Die ZeaLite LED Grow Light wurde speziell für die Zucht und Pflege von biolumineszenten Mikroalgen entwickelt. Deine Algen brauchen täglich 8–16 Stunden Licht, optimal sind 12 Stunden. Die LED Grow Light übernimmt das automatisch für dich, damit du dir keine Gedanken mehr machen musst.
Mit drei programmierbaren Timer-Einstellungen (8h, 12h oder 16h) passt du den Lichtzyklus perfekt an den natürlichen Tag-Nacht-Rhythmus deiner Algen an. Vier einstellbare Helligkeitsstufen erlauben dir ausserdem, die Intensität je nach Wachstumsphase zu regulieren, weniger Licht für junge Kulturen, mehr für dichte und aktive.
Die Lampe ist per USB betrieben und lässt sich mit jedem Standard-USB-Netzteil oder einer Powerbank verwenden. Sie kann sowohl von oben als auch von unten eingesetzt werden.

How does the algae glow?
The glow is created by a natural process called bioluminescence. Certain molecules in the algae, particularly the enzyme luciferase and the substance luciferin, react to mechanical stimuli such as movement. This reaction releases energy in the form of blue light. It's a purely biological process that requires no electricity, batteries, or artificial additives.
Why don't the algae glow immediately after filling?
After shipping, the algae need a few days to recover and resume their natural day-night rhythm (circadian rhythm). Glowing usually begins on the second day—but only during the night phase.
When and how do the algae glow?
The algae glow whenever you move them in the dark. Even a slight twist or a quick shake is enough for them to begin glowing in their signature blue hue. The algae are dormant during the day, but as soon as it gets dark, their nighttime magic begins.
Why do the algae glow at all?
In nature, bioluminescent microalgae such as Pyrocystis fusiformis use their glow as a defense mechanism. When exposed to movement, for example, due to predators or waves, they emit short flashes of light to irritate attackers or attract larger predators that could drive off the original attacker.
Is the content toxic?
No, the algae contained are non-toxic and harmless to humans.
