The origin of ZeaLite
ZeaLite GmbH is a Swiss biotech startup dedicated to the research and development of algae for bioluminescent applications and to improving air quality.
Our vision is to harness the natural benefits of these organisms, whether for effective or aesthetic applications.

How it all began
The story of ZeaLite
Gabriel Feher, the founder of ZeaLite, is a trained chemical and pharmaceutical technologist. He worked daily with complex processes, chemical reactions, and biotechnological applications. During this time, he deepened his scientific understanding and gained his first experience working with living microorganisms.
The idea for ZeaLite arose on a trip when he first discovered bioluminescent algae. The glow of these organisms in complete darkness piqued his interest and inspired him to think. The idea of cultivating this phenomenon himself and making it available to others gradually developed from this.
In early 2024, Gabriel Feher founded ZeaLite. This initial vision gradually evolved into a company with the goal of making the natural glow of bioluminescent algae accessible to everyone as a decorative object. Hence the name, which is a combination of "Zea" for sea and "Lite" for light.
Despite its early stage, ZeaLite stands for well-thought-out product development, design excellence, and the consistent exploration of new applications of biotechnological processes.
